Abstract:

This dataset has been collected thanks to the long-term partnership with Mahatma Gandhi University, India, which granted the permission for field access, and to the financial, scientific, technical, and/or logistical support of the M-TROPICS CZO. This dataset holds the Impact of dungle beetles and termites on soil properties in Mule Hole long term observatory, Bandipur Tiger reserve, Karnataka, Southern India. Two dataset are available: (i) the physical and chemical properties of termite sheeting below elephant dung (TSDung) or below wood branches (TSBranch), the soil excavated by dung beetles on the ground (DB) and the control surrounding topsoil (Ctrl) in two soil types (ferralsol vs. vertisol), and (ii) properties of the soil macroporosity below DB, TSDung, TSBranch and Ctrl measured by X-Ray Computed tomography and their impact on water hydraulic conductivity (Ksat) in the ferralsol.
