Abstract:

This dataset has been collected thanks to the long-term partnership with Mahatma Gandhi University, India, which granted the permission for field access, and to the financial, scientific, technical, and/or logistical support of the M-TROPICS CZO. The dataset holds soil properties sampled in the Mule Hole long term observatory in 2015. Two types of termite mounds were sampled: Cathedral mounds (CAT) and Lenticular mounds (LENTsmall < 1m3, medium between 1 to 3 m3 and large > 3 m3) and two types of control soils: CTRL for the topsoil at 0-5 cm depth and PROF for samples coming from the 50-100 cm soil layer in a Ferralsol and in a Vertisol. Variables are: the amounts in clay, silt and sand (%, method: AFNOR, NFX 31107), the amounts in C and N and d13C and d15N (method: CHN + mass spectrometer), the CEC (method: AFNOR, NF ISO 23470) and pH.
