DIAL est une équipe de l'UMR 260 LEDa qui réunit des enseignants de l'université Paris-Dauphine et des chercheurs de l’IRD et du CNRS. Cette équipe compte 19 enseignants chercheurs de Paris-Dauphine, 12 chercheurs de l’IRD et 1 chercheure du CNRS, une dizaine de chercheurs affiliés et une vingtaine de doctorants. Les enseignants et les chercheurs se répartissent sur 2 sites localisés à Paris et 3 implantations secondaires (Brésil, Inde et Pérou).
