Description
| The dataset provides surface water elevations derived from nadir radar altimeters for different periods of time in the Congo River Basin at 2107 Virtual Stations (VS), over rivers and lakes. It is based on time series from ERS-2, ENVISAT and ENVISAT-2, SARAL-Altika (repeat cycle of 35 days), JASON 2&3 (repeat cycle of 10 days) and SENTINEL 3A&B (repeat cycle of 28 days).
- File Name description:
1) for rivers: R_Basin_River_M_XX: virtual station (VS) from M mission located in a basin (Congo) on a river from XX (where M and XX represents respectively the satellite mission and the distance from VS to the river outlet). R stands for the river product. 2) for lakes: L_Basin_Lake: VS located in a basin (Congo) on a lake. L stands for the lake product.
- File description:
The file for both river and lake products are organized as follow:
- The header in comment (#):
- Lat stands for the latitude of the VS
- Lon stands for the longitude of the VS
- Mission_Track stands for the satellite mission and the ground track of the satellite.
The data is provided in a table format where:
- First column represents the date.
- Second column represents the time.
- Third column: represents the satellite-derived surface water elevation in meter at each satellite pass.
- Fourth column: represents the uncertainty of the satellite-derived surface water elevation in meter at each satellite pass.
