Description
The aim of this study was to characterise the local foods and beverages sold and advertised in two deprived urban Ghanaian neighbourhoods.

A cross-sectional observational study design was used to audit all food outlets (outlet type and food type sold) and food advertisements. Two deprived neighbourhoods in two cities in Ghana: Accra and Ho.

Data available on: Types of foods and beverages sold and/or advertised in food outlets. A total of 413 food outlets or adverts were identified in Accra, 208 in Ho.
