Description
| Since June 2022, the International Joint Laboratory CARE (Center for Asian Research on Water), hosted at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), has operated an OTT Parsivel2 disdrometer in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This dataset contains event-based rainfall and microphysical characteristics derived from four years (June 2022–June 2026) of quality-controlled one-minute drop size distribution (DSD) observations. The dataset contains a total of 552 events with accumulated precipitation greater than or equal to 1 mm. Rainfall events were identified using a minimum inter-event time of 30 minutes. For each event, it provides rainfall descriptors and microphysical parameters. The Z–R relationship coefficients for the entire event and for its convective and stratiform components were estimated from one-minute DSD observations that met the following criteria: at least 50 detected drops.m−3 per one-minute sample and a minimum of 30 one-minute observations available for each regression. |

| The dataset is provided in a NetCDF file format, complying with the CF-1.10 convention and containing complete metadata describing the station location, instrument characteristics, processing workflow, event detection method, precipitation classification, Z–R estimation methods, and sensor information.
