L'UMR ESPACE-DEV développe des recherches sur les dynamiques spatiales caractérisant les éco-sociosystèmes. Ses objectifs concernent la définition d’indicateurs de ces dynamiques : bio-géophysiques, évolutions des sociétés, risques liés aux maladies émergentes en fonction de paramètres environnementaux, changements et vulnérabilité des territoires aux changements globaux. Dans ce but, elle met au point des méthodologies en télédétection spatiale et en intégration des connaissances multidisciplinaires. L'objectif est de mettre en place des Observatoires de l’Environnement pour le développement.
