Research Unit "Host-Vector-Parasite-Environment Interactions in Neglected Tropical Diseases due to Trypanosomatids"

(in French : Unité Mixte de Recherche "Interactions Hôte-Vecteur-Parasite-Environnement dans les maladies tropicales négligées dues aux Trypanosomatidae")

INTERTRYP is a joint research unit (IRD/CIRAD) based in Montpellier, dedicated to the control of human and animal diseases caused by Trypanosomatids. INTERTRYP is a Collaborating Center of the WHO for the Human African Trypanosomiasis. The Cirad via INTERTRYP is the Reference Laboratory of the OIE on the "Animal African Trypanosomoses".

Scientific project. With its partners in Europe and in the South countries, INTERTRYP conducts an integrated approach of the different actors of the trypanosomatidae cycle (human and animal host/parasite/vector/symbiont bacteria/ environment/climate) and their interactions in order to diagnose, analyze, develop and make available methods of control and elimination of these diseases to partners in the South and neglected populations.
