Description
| The rainfall gauge network is equipped with tipping buckets (DAVIS Rain Collector 6465M, resolution 0.2mm). The collecting area is 214 cm². The raw data, corresponding to the number of tipping per minute, are UT referenced.
A static and dynamic calibration was carried out following the WMO Norm [1]. The calibration procedure involves a peristaltic pump and a precision weighing under variable intensity ranging from 10 to 800mm/h. A calibration curve was fitted for each gage. Further analysis indicates that the same calibration relationship can be used for all gages without introducing significant distortion. This latter approach, being more robust than the former, is used to produce the calibrated data [2].
