Ceped conduct all its research on populations in the ‘South’, in their own societies or in those located in the ‘North’, when they join them as a result of movement and migration. The entire research unit works on the transformations caused by globalisation processes that affect the structures, systems and norms of these societies in the South, as well as the social practices and knowledge of their populations and social groups, particularly in the fields of education, migration and health:
  • Global health: crises, policies, interventions
  • Migration, power, collective actions
  • Knowledge and markets in the South: education, technoscience and culture
  • Health inequalities: vulnerabilities and emancipation
Ceped mainly conducts multidisciplinary research based on multi-sited field surveys, using multiscale methodologies. Approaches can be both qualitative and quantitative, but always with a resolutely comparative approach.
