Pharmacochemistry and Biology for Development

The research unit PHARMADEV includes researchers from the French Research Institute for Development (IRD) and the Paul Sabatier-Toulouse 3 University (UT3). Our mission is to contribute to improving the health of people living developing countries. To this end, our research focus on finding new therapeutic approaches for the prevention and treatment of the most prevalent diseases in tropical areas, in particular parasitosis (leishmaniasis, malaria) and cancer (hepatocarcinoma, lymphoma). PHARMADEV has also a mission of training students, in particular students from South countries, the development of sustainable partnerships with South research teams.

PHARMADEV's main site is located in Toulouse, at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, part of UT3. The MRN2i team is located in a university building (L1) at Rangueil hospital in Toulouse. The research unit has also two secondary sites in the South: in Lima, Peru, hosted by the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia (UPCH), and in Vientiane, Laos, with our partners in the Faculty of Pharmacy.
